Sunday has a PR problem.
Somewhere along the way it became either a second workday or a 24-hour anxiety spiral about Monday. Neither is what Sunday is for.
Sunday is for the reset. Not the punishing, color-coded, meal-prep-seven-containers kind. The gentle kind—the one that makes you feel like a person again before the week starts.
Here's ours.
Start Slow on Purpose
No alarm. Or one alarm, set an hour later than usual, just for the luxury of ignoring it.
Make the coffee the slow way—the pour-over, the French press, the frothed milk you only bother with on weekends. Sit with it. Not scrolling. Just sitting. Ten minutes of nothing is the whole foundation this reset is built on.
Move a Little, Not a Lot
This is not the day for the punishing workout. Walk around the block. Stretch on the living room floor. Do the yoga video you've saved three times and never opened.
Twenty minutes. Enough to remind your body it exists, not enough to need a nap after.
Take the Long Shower
You know the one. The shower with no time limit, where the water stays hot and nobody needs anything from you.
Exfoliate. Use the good products—the ones you save "for special occasions," as if Sunday doesn't count. It counts.
And when you get out, don't get dressed. Not yet. This is prime robe time—the plush, hooded, stay-in-it-until-noon kind. Sunday mornings are the entire reason robes were invented.
Tidy One Thing
Not the whole house. One thing. The kitchen counter. The nightstand avalanche. The chair that's become a closet.
Pick the spot you see first thing Monday morning and make it calm. Future you, stumbling toward the coffee maker at 7 a.m., will feel the difference.
Set Tomorrow Up
Five small things, that's it. Lay out the workout clothes. Pack the bag. Check the calendar so Monday holds no surprises. Put the keys where they belong.
This isn't productivity theater—it's a gift to Monday-morning you, who deserves to start the week without hunting for her other shoe.
Protect the Evening
The Sunday scaries are real, but they're mostly about the week feeling enormous and undefined. Shrink it.
Write down the three things that actually matter this week. Everything else is noise. Then close the notebook, make something cozy for dinner, and put on the show.
Phone on the charger. Robe still on. Week not started yet.
That's the whole reset. Nothing heroic. Just enough care to walk into Monday feeling like yourself. ♡
